Bemidji theater group seeks donations to keep doors open

BEMIDJI -- The Paul Bunyan Playhouse in Bemidji is trying to raise $70,000 by Feb. 15 or it will be forced to close after 53 years in the Bemidji area.

Plans for the 2003 summer season include the shows "Oklahoma," "Proof," "Winnie the Pooh," "Sleuth," "Beehive" and more.

Send donations to Paul Bunyan Playhouse, c/o Escrow Account, 314 Beltrami Ave. N.W., Bemidji, MN 56601.

Funds donated will be escrowed until the target amount is reached.

If the escrow does not reach $70,000 by Feb. 15, all donations will be refunded and the theater will close.
