Allan H. Kleinschmidt

Allan H. Kleinschmidt, 73, Brainerd, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village.

Allan was born in Brainerd on Oct. 6, 1934, to Henry and Angeline (Krukenberg) Kleinschmidt. He was a custodian for the school district and after retirement worked at Almost Home. He was a farmer at heart. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine, Brainerd; his sons, Bruce (Connie), Brainerd, Curt (Lori), Brainerd; his daughter, Becky (Ron) Sander; his stepsons, Wesley Kropuenske, Blaine, Dennis Kropuenske, Detroit Lakes; his stepdaughters, Beverly (Ed) Meyer, Brainerd, Nancy Thoene, Randall, Kim (Robert) Aspholm, Brainerd; and one sister, Lorna (Richard) Klein, Brainerd; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; 18 stepgrandchildren; and 27 stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter.

Services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Pastor Mark Kleckner officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, rural Brainerd.
