The Brainerd City Council last night voted to hire a coordinator to study and attempt to secure a federal program and new industries in Brainerd. Hired by the council was Howard Dougherty.

Eagle's Club whist players last night defended home tables by outscoring Northern Pacific car shop players 249-208. Following the contest lunch was served by the club.

The bid of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Hall, 404 Fourth Avenue NE, Brainerd, to care for city bedridden cases for the sum of $40 a month and $25 a month for those not confined to their beds was accepted by the city council.

Dr. R.A. Beise, city and county health officer, has furnished some very interesting figures of the city for 1907. The total number of births during the year was 177, of which 105 were male and 72 were female.
