Brainerd Squirt Blue team second at Wadena tournament
The Brainerd Warriors Squirt Blue team finished second in the Wadena License to Skate tournament Jan. 8-9.
In the first game Brainerd beat Fergus Falls 7-1. Zach Brown stopped 12 of 13 shots. Goals and assists were tallied by Adam Casperson, Joe Tomlinson, Peyton Argir, Jacob Johnson, Dillon Johnson, Alex Antoine and Parker Sundquist.
Nate Kmett stopped 21 of 22 shots in a 5-1 semifinal victory over Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato. Scoring were Sundquist, Casperson, Argir, Reno Fussy, Garrett Impola and Mitch Howieson.
Forest Lake won the championship game 7-0.
Other team members are Trent Mills, Matt Pikula, Austen Anderson, Jack Schweich and Spencer Senn.
