Woman pedestrian injured by hit-and-run driver

A 55-year-old woman was in serious, but stable condition Friday at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd after being hit by a vehicle, he Brainerd Police Department reported.

Officers said the woman was crossing the southeast corner of the intersection at Washington Street and 13th Street when a vehicle traveling southbound on Washington Street struck her. The vehicle continued driving east away from the scene.

The accident was reported at about 5:37 p.m.

It was reported that the vehicle was a black 1990 Honda four-door, or a similar style vehicle.

Authorities declined Saturday morning to release the name of the victim until family members were notified.
