Brainerd girls defeat Sartell

SARTELL -- Megan Arns scored 12 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and collected seven steals in the Brainerd Warriors 36-22 girls' basketball victory over the Sartell Sabres Tuesday.

Julie Austin added nine points and Maria Swanson seven for the Warriors, who struggled from the field, making just 12 of 41 (29 percent) shots.

"It was not a real well-played game but I was happy to pick up the win and we hope for improved play on Friday against Willmar," Brainerd head coach Carl Hendrickson said.

Willmar, which is at Brainerd Friday night, is unbeaten and ranked No. 1 in Class 3A.
