Boxers compete at Wadena
Six Brainerd Golden Gloves boxers competed at Wadena Saturday.
Josh Olson defeated Trevor Savaloja of Wadena at 115 pounds. Nate Rubin (118) won his bout. Blake Herron (115) lost to Cory Burton of Detroit Lakes, Shawn Blakemore (162 defeated Jonathon Magnell of Wadena, Mike Moe (139) lost to Michael Green of Wadena and Justin Specht (135) lost to Cody McManigle.
Brainerd's next card is Saturday at St. Cloud.
Hanson, Lanin to speak to boosters
Brainerd Warriors nordic skiing coaches Pat Lanin and Chris Hanson will speak to the Brainerd Sports Boosters Club, which meets noon Thursday at the Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen, located at 923 Oak St. between the Triangle Store and Temple Baptist Church.
Chris Woodard, the Warrior Athlete of the Week, will be honored.
Sophomore girls basketball team wins
Brainerd's Cara Wiltse scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Warriors girls' basketball team to a 52-22 win over Sartell Tuesday.
Warrior Erika Austin chipped in with 10 points.
