Mary 'Delores' Salber

BROWERVILLE -- Mary "Delores" Salber, 77, Browerville, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls.

She was born Aug. 12, 1925, in Ellsworth to Joseph and Mathilda (Gerardy) Wagner. She graduated from high school in Ellsworth. She attended Mankato State Teachers College and then taught for three years in Noble County. She married Leonard Salber on June 16, 1947, in Ellsworth. The couple moved to Petersburg, Neb., where they farmed from 1947-1968. They then moved to Browerville, where they continued farming until retiring in 1994. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Randall.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mary-Lynn Evans, Little Falls; four sons, Roger, Steven and George Salber, all of Browerville, and Glen Salber, Little Falls; two brothers, George Wagner, Clarissa, and Joseph Wagner, Ellsworth; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

An infant son, David; a son, Jim; an infant brother; and two brothers, Werner and Richard; and two sisters, Catherine and Rita, died earlier.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church in Randall with Rev. Al Quade officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall with parish prayers at 7:30 p.m.
