PEQUOT LAKES - Jazz vocalist Charmin Michelle and saxophonist Dave Karr will join Sam and Matthew Miltich on stage as the Clearwater Hot Club for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 23 on the stage of the Pequot Lakes High School Theater.
The performance is part of the Greater Lakes Area Performing Arts 2009-2010 season performances.

The Clearwater Hot Club is dedicated to preserving and performing the music of the late, great Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. Sam Miltich and his father, Matthew, who lead the group, have been performing since Sam first learned to play the guitar at age 13.
The Clearwater Hot Club was formally put together in the summer of 2003 and released its first album the following November. After playing throughout the Midwest and the United States, the group released a second CD in 2004. Since then, it has toured in the United States, Canada and Japan.
Tickets are available by calling Pequot Lakes Community Education at (218) 568-9200 or at the Community Education office at 4276 West Lake St., Pequot Lakes. Tickets also will be sold at the door starting one hour before the performance at $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 60 and older and $8 for youth 18 and younger.

Born in Birmingham, Ala., Michelle moved to Minneapolis at a young age. With the promotion of organ legend "Captain" Jack McDuff, she toured Europe and has performed in jazz festivals in Spain, Portugal, France and throughout the Twin Cities area.
For more than 50 years, Karr, a New York City native who plays the saxophone, flute and clarinet, has been a composer, performing with many of the top national and Twin Cities jazz artists.
