TAYLORS FALLS (AP) -- A large fire engulfed a historical downtown building here and had fire crews battling the blaze late into Saturday night.
The fire began around 7 p.m. at the Livery Mall shopping center, a Chisago County dispatcher said.
St. Croix firefighter Kelly Pieg called it a "total loss" and said flames were shooting about 100 feet in the air. Authorities said they think the fire originated in a nearby restaurant.
The old, wooden building houses between four and six businesses, the dispatcher said.
Eight fire departments were on the scene around 10 p.m. There were no reports of injuries, the dispatcher said.
Taylors Falls is 42 miles northeast of Minneapolis.
