Ruby Mae Shantz

Ruby Mae (Heyen) Shantz (1923-2007) went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at her home in Brainerd on Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, after a long, lingering illness. She previously lived in Janesville, Wis., where she was active in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.

She is survived by her husband, Ivan; two children, Eldora (Terry) Huffman and Roger (Debra) Shantz; five grandchildren, Susan (Trevor) Mansell, Craig (Anissa) Huffman, Kimberly (James) Shabaz, Michael (Jana) Huffman, and Krista Shantz; three grandsons, Stephen and John Shabaz and Graham Huffman.

The family wishes to acknowledge the good care Ruby received from Home Health Partnership of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, the hospice nurses and the home health aides and also the volunteers who provided respite care on Sundays.

Local arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and burial will be in Janesville, Wis.
