Flyer girls eighth at Giants Ridge

BIWABIK - Molly Binger placed 17th in the classic event and Jackie Thelen and Beth Hauer were 16th and 19th in freestyle to lead the Little Falls Flyers girls' team to an eighth-place finish in a 73-team field in the Mesabi Academy Invite at Giants Ridge on Saturday.

The Brainerd girls' team finished 36th and was led by Hannah McAllister's 14th-place freestyle finish.

The Little Falls boys' team placed 39th place in a 74-team field and Philip Prosapio placed 55th in the freestyle event.

Brainerd's Pat Mangan captured a 74th-place classic finish as the Brainerd boys' team finished 60th.
