Duane J. Nelson, son of Hilding and Rita Nelson, Rt. 1, Brainerd, has been selected for the 1982 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges."

30 years ago (1972)

Ahead of seven points, 43-36 with four and a half minutes remaining, the Brainerd High School Warriors hit the shooting doldrums and fell to their second defeat of the season 45-43 at Crosby-Ironton.

40 years ago (1962)

The Domian report of 1956 on Brainerd School needs, which is the basis for the present school board plan to convert Lincoln Elementary School into a Junior College building, also recommended that Brainerd build a second Junior High School as soon as the district could afford it.

60 years ago (1942)

Purchase of the Lagerquist Block on South Sixth Street by J. Hirschel Hardy and the Hardy Continental Hotel System was announced today. The project consists of buildings occupied by Park Region Bakery, Roth Liquor Store, Skillestad Barber Shop, apartments and two story residence.

80 years ago (1922)
