Social Butterfly, an event design and boutique, migrated from Nisswa to Baxter this winter.
The shop opened Saturday in the Grizzly Center off Highway 371 between Caribou Coffee and Cold Stone Creamery, which was formerly occupied by EL Menk.
Owner LaJeanna Eckhoff said the move will allow the store to have a more year-round presence and allowed it to expand its paper products - invitation lines, stationery and announcement lines.
Social Butterfly offers hostess gifts for baby showers and weddings and has retail accesories for weddings. Hat boxes provide the background to set off gifts.
The shop features an idea and inspiration room where customers may look through idea books with parents or bridesmaids in private.
Social Butterfly was in Nisswa for two years before the move to Baxter. Eckhoff said change of scenery has been positive.
"It's a warm, bright location," she said. "I think people are real receptive to it. We are searching out unique products - details that will make a party, or a gift you give, extra special. The store isn't just for people who are throwing a party. There are gifts in here."
The store has invitations people can buy and print themselves or offers print services on site.
