LITTLE FALLS -- Adeline Lorraine Schlichting, 80, Little Falls, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls.
She was born May 23, 1921, in Little Falls to William and Amelia (Noe) Saulter. She attended school in Little Falls at Washington and St. Aloysius. She married Carl Schlichting on Aug. 14, 1937, in Racine, Wis. They lived in Racine for two years and then moved to Little Falls. She was a homemaker until 1968. She worked at Little Falls High School as a cook, retiring in 1981. She volunteered at many places in Little Falls, including the Senior Center, Morrison County Fair, church bazaar, St. Otto's where she mended and with the Cheery Cherry Ladies at St. Otto's. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Christian Mothers, St. Mary's Choir, Little Falls VFW Auxiliary where she was a past president, Variety Garden Club, the Cheery Cherry Ladies of St. Otto's and the choral group at the Senior Center.
Survivors include four sons, Larry, Hager City, Wis., Jim, South Milwaukee, Wis., Charlie, Crosslake, and Paul, Motley; four daughters, Jeanie Cottew, Pine River, Lorraine Benson, Stone Lake, Wis., Kate Eckman, Little Falls, and Julie Brill, Little Falls; 25 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Her husband; a son, Bobby; three brothers, Arthur, Leroy and Bernard; and five sisters, Mary, Cecelia, Leona, Margaret and Annastasia, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Nick Landsberger officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Little Falls.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, with the Little Falls VFW Auxiliary prayer service at 6 p.m., St. Mary's Christian Mother's rosary at 6:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 7:30 p.m., and from 8-10 a.m. Saturday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.
