Logan Hopp and Jenna Ruzich both captured second-place finishes to pace the Brainerd Warriors junior varsity Nordic ski teams at the Fergus Falls Invite Tuesday
Hopp finished in 17:50, while Ruzich crossed the finish line in 20:01.
Cole Sundquist (19:07) placed 14th and Michael Montgomery (19:36) was 15th for the boys' team.
Rachel Howard placed fourth in 20:35. Elizabeth Bonau (22:04) was ninth, Arainna Brown (22:21) was 10th, Laura Huss (24:01) placed 13th, Anna Gessell (24:25) was 16th and Megan Holmes (24:44) finished in 19th.
BHS sophomores win two
The Brainerd Warriors sophomore girls' basketball team defeated the Little Falls Flyers 50-35 Tuesday.
Alex Sauer led Brainerd with 14 points. Kenzie Hradsky scored eight points and Sam Kletscher, Jackie Maybon and Emilee Branum each scored six to improve their record to 11-0.
On Saturday the Warriors defeated Cloquet 55-25.
Branum led the Warriors with 17 points. KB Capers added 14 and Sauer scored 11.
BHS JV swim team competes
The team of Joseph Fritscher, Zach Schneider, Jacob Larson and Ethan Davis won the 200 medley relay for the Brainerd Warriors junior varsity swimming and diving team in its matchup with St. Cloud Apollo.
Bradyn Watson won the 200 free, Corey Kuglin the 200 individual medley, Larson the 50 free, Blake Helwig diving, William Fritscher the 100 fly, Peter Jacobsen the 100 free, Sam Dellacecca the 100 backstroke, Andrew Goll the 100 breaststroke.
The 200 free relay team of Wiley Radomski, Morgan Salo, Britton Murrey and Watson won the event. The team of Kuglin, Radomski, Salo and Schneider won the 400 free relay.
BHS JV gymnastics wins
The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity gymnastics team defeated St. Cloud Apollo 110.3 to 43.7 Tuesday.
Allison Reuer won the floor with a score of 7.65, Westafer the beam with 6.8, Lingwall the bars with 6.6 and Abbey Buchta the vault with 8.4.
