Ella N. Simmons

MESA, Ariz. -- Ella N. Simmons, 73, lifelong Brainerd resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, in Mesa, Ariz.

She was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Brainerd to Ammon and Sadie (Fox) Austin. She married Edward W. Simmons. She was a member of the Brainerd Assemblies of God Church.

Survivors include four sons, Michael Simmons, Apache Junction, Ariz., Edward Simmons Jr., Brainerd, Gregor Simmons, East Bethel, and Steve Simmons, Denver; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Her husband, a great-grandchild, her parents, eight brothers and two sisters died earlier.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Brainerd Assemblies of God Church with Pastors Mark Boone and Melford Olson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd and an hour before services Saturday at the church.
