A Brainerd mother and her 4-year-old daughter were injured Monday after their car collided with another vehicle at an uncontrolled intersection in Brainerd, sending their vehicle crashing into a tree.

The accident occurred at 5:16 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Ninth Avenue Northeast and L Street Northeast, according to Brainerd police. There are no stop signs at the intersection.

Injured were Dionne Lea Rozario, 33, and Priya Rozario, 4, both of Brainerd. They suffered minor injuries and were transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd where they were both treated and released. Priya Rozario, according to report, may require plastic surgery.

The driver of the second vehicle was Darrin Scott Polansky, 36, Brainerd. He and his passenger, Joseph Polansky, 8, were not reported injured.

According to the report, Polansky's vehicle was northbound on Ninth Avenue Northeast and Rozario's vehicle was eastbound on L Street Northeast when Polansky's vehicle apparently struck Rozario's vehicle at the intersection. Damage to Rozario's vehicle indicated she was in the middle of the intersection when the accident occurred. After the collision, Rozario's vehicle crashed into a tree at 11201 Ninth Ave. N.E., causing further damage to the car. Polansky reported to police that the roads were icy at the time of the crash.
