Selma Lillian "Sally" Ose, 97, of Brainerd, died on Jan. 6, 2009, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. She was born on Aug. 5, 1911, in Morristown, N.D., to Franklin A. and Lena (Mueller) Sander.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Crosby; a life member and past matron of the Evergreen Chapter of Order of Eastern Star No. 204, Crosby; graduate of St. Cloud State University with a degree in elementary education. Sally taught for 29 years, teaching within several rural school districts on the Cuyuna Range.
She is survived by stepson, Stanton (Betsy) Ose of Bristol, R.I.; stepdaughter, Dianne (Robert) Horna of Huntley, Ill.; two brothers, Archie Sander, of Merrifield, and Eugene (Grace) Sander, of Deerwood; four step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by first husband, John Dandanell, in 1960, and second husband, Gordon Ose, in 1981; six brothers, Freeman, Edwin, Ortwin, Erwin, Cecil and Clarence Sander; and three sisters, Florence Sander, Vernie Horgan and Pearl Ulm.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby.
Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call on Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
