MnDOT seeks public input on statewide rail plan

The public and other stakeholders are invited to provide input on the Minnesota Department of Transportation's 2009 Comprehensive Statewide Freight and Passenger Rail Plan at a series of open houses and video conference public hearings across the state.

A public hearing will be from 3-5 p.m. on Jan. 20 at MnDOT's District 3 offices in Baxter, 7694 Industrial Park Road.

The plan, which was released last week, is available for review and comment on MnDOT's Web site at www.dot.state.mn.us/planning/railplan/.

The public can review a paper copy of the plan at the MnDOT Central Office in St. Paul, 395 John Ireland Blvd., or at district headquarters offices throughout the state. To request this document in an alternative format call 651-366-4718 or e-mail ADArequest@dot.state.mn.us.

Comments can be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 29, by: e-mail to StateRailPlan@dot.state.mn.us, fax at (651) 366-4248 and by leaving a recorded message at (651) 366-3199
