Karen Wiser
Karen Ann Wiser, born Sept. 16, 1941, in Webster City, Iowa. Preceded in death by parents, Carl R. and Betty Nan Bradshaw. Survived by her six children, John C., James, Jeffery, Joseph Wiser, Julie Meszaros, Jennifer Johnson, their spouses; and 12 grandchildren. In addition by her brother, Randy Bradshaw, and scores of friends.
Karen Wiser was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was co-owner of Train Bell Resort in Merrifield, Minn., and in June of 1991 she started her career at Wal-Mart in Baxter, Minn., staying with them until her retirement in December 2006. Karen passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 3, 2009, at 3:55 p.m. surrounded by her loving family. The family wishes to express their many thanks to the clergy, hospice caregivers and friends who helped make her final journey to her new life easier.

Services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at 2 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Kris and Father Gabriel officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Brainerd. Interment will be at St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery. The family would appreciate everyone joining them in celebrating Karen's new journey.
