JV swimmers beat Apollo
The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity swimming and diving team easily defeated St. Cloud Apollo 79-18 Thursday at the Brainerd High School pool.
Individual first-placers for Brainerd included Miles Krueger in the 200 freestyle, Ty Rosnau in the 200 individual medley, Scott Antolak in the 50 free, Jade Whirley in diving, Darren Clabo in the 100 butterfly, Jeremiah Peterson in the 100 free and Brian Schanzenbach in the 100 breaststroke.
Lake Region beats Nay-Ah-Shing
ONAMIA -- The Lake Region Christian Hornets defeated Nay-Ah-Shing 54-26 in girls' high school basketball action Thursday.
Janelle Green of LRCS led all scorers with 16 points.
JV boys skate past Flyers
The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity boys' hockey team nipped Little Falls 4-3 on Thursday.
Kirk Flanagan had two goals and Tyler Nelson and Matt Burris each had one for Brainerd. Assists went to Aaron Jenkins, Kyle Kruchten, Mark Norman, Andy Schindler and Brent Potvin. Brainerd goalie Jon Weston made 20 saves.
