The Brainerd School Board has two new faces.
Reed Campbell of Baxter and Kent Montgomery of Brainerd were sworn in Monday as the newest members of the school board. They were elected in November to four-year seats.
Incumbent board member Ruth Gmeinder, who was re-elected, was unable to attend the meeting and will be sworn into office at the school board meeting at 7 p.m. Monday.
At the school board's reorganizational meeting, board member Bob Nystrom was named as this year's board chair. Bernie Roberts was named the 2004 vice chair and Lew Hudson will serve as clerk-treasurer.
Board members also decided to keep their salaries the same as it they have been since 1986. Board members earn $4,200 a year.
In other business, the board approved the final audit report. The school district had $62,592,049 in revenue in the general fund as of June 30, 2003, or $6.1 million more when compared to 2002. The district also had $60,191,869 in expenditures or about $570,500 less than in 2002.
The audit report also shows that the district had $6.99 million it its unreserved general fund balance as of June 30, 2003, or an increase of $510,000 from 2002.
