LeRoy F. Lingwall

CROSBY -- LeRoy Frank Lingwall, 79, Crosby, formerly of Emily, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.

He was born April 16, 1921, in Emily to George and Mary (Hite) Lingwall. He married Mary Deshayes on Feb. 14, 1942, in Port Orchard, Wash. He was a World War II Army veteran serving with 777th Tank Battalion in European Theater. He retired as post master of the Emily post office after 30 years of service. He was a former Emily firefighter.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Melvin Lingwall, The Villages, Fla., and Dan Lingwall, Outing; a daughter, Deanna Heglund, Crosby; a sister, Fern Deshayes, Emily; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, David and Virgil Lingwall, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Emily with the Rev. Larry Foote officiating. Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery with full military rites by the Myrin James American Legion Post No. 443 of Ironton.

Friends may call an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
