Smith helps Brainerd past Otters

FERGUS FALLS - Sam Smith captured individual victories on the balance beam, floor exercise and all-around competition in leading the Brainerd Warrior gymnastics team past Fergus Falls 135.78 to 128.80 in Central Lakes Conference action Thursday.

Rebecca Westafer won the uneven parallel bars and Shana Lingwall won the vault for the Warriors, who improved to 5-0 in the conference and overall.

Sam Smith won two events and the all-around.
