Mabel E. Bahr Bell, 96, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at the Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Services will be held at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd on Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rory Swenson officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in Bemidji at a later date.
Mabel was born Jan. 27, 1911, the daughter of Peter and Lucy Shoberg in Foreston, Minn. She married Roy Bahr on Aug. 8, 1928, in Bemidji, Minn., where the couple lived for many years before retiring to Brainerd. They had seven children. Roy passed away in 1980. In 1992 she married the Rev. Willard Bell of Brainerd. They shared ten years together before his passing in 2002.
She is survived by her children, Don Bahr, of Bemidji, Donna Steddon, of Iowa, Del (Jan) Bahr, of Brainerd, Joanne Swanson, of Brainerd, Sandra (Don) Bundrant, of Washington, and Gary (Linda) Bahr, of Brooklyn Park; her brothers, Morris (Julie) Shoberg, of International Falls, Minn., Wayne Shoberg and David Shoberg; her sister, Eleanor, of Washington; her stepchildren, David Bell, of Utah, Margaret Thompson, of Texas, Marilyn (Jack) Olwell, of Farmington, Minn., Rich (Deb) Bell, Charles Bell, of Brainerd; 15 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Roy Bahr and Willard Bell; her daughter, Betty; her grandsons, Curt Bahr and Rick Swanson; her great-grandson, Robbie Bahr; and her brothers, Jasper, Paul and Frances.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
