Homer Tusler

HACKENSACK -- Homer Tusler, age 88, of Hackensack, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at Woodrest Health Care Center in Walker. He was born Jan. 19, 1916, in Backus to Albert and Nelina (Larson) Tusler.

Homer served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945 and was involved in the American and European theaters during WWII. In 1946 he married Elaine Morgart in Backus. He lived most of his life in Hackensack where he held many different jobs. After retiring, he opened his own small engine repair shop. He served on the Hackensack Volunteer Fire Department for many years and was a life member of the Legion Post No. 202 in Hackensack. He loved to fish and hunt, tinker and make lawn ornaments and also enjoyed visiting.

He is survived by his children, LeRoy Tusler, of Kasson, Ron Tusler (Jodey), of Lake George, Pat Tusler (Ray), of San Diego, Kathy Martig (Gary), of Hackensack, Sherri Harwig (Steve), of Kasson; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; brother, Merlin; and sisters, Hazel, Elsie, Arlene and Margaret.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, at Kline Funeral Home in Pine River. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
