Compared to Thursday, not enough slaughter steers, heifers, and Holstein steers for a test. Slaughter cows steady on a light test. Not enough slaughter bulls for a test. Near 450 feeders expected for the auction.

Steers: No test.

Holsteins: Few Choice 2-3 1385-1526 lbs 56.00-56.75.

Heifers: No test.

Cows:

Premium White 70-75 percent lean none.

Breaking 70-80 percent lean none.

Boning 80-85 percent lean 38.00-39.00, low dressing 41.00-42.00.

Lean 85-90 percent lean, 36.00-39.00, low dressing 31.50-35.50.

Bulls: Yield Grade 1-2 1850-2005 lbs 47.00-48.00.

For the week: Compared to late last week, slaughter steers and heifers fully steady. Holstein steers steady to .50 higher. Slaughter cows finished the week steady. Slaughter bulls steady on light test.

Hogs: 400.

Barrows and Gilts: Compared to Thursday, .50 lower.

47-50 percent lean, 220-260 lbs 36.50.

47-50 percent lean, 260-270 lbs 35.50-36.50.

46-48 percent lean, 270-280 lbs 34.50-35.50.

Sows: Steady.

U.S. 1-3 300-500 lbs 25.00-26.00, 500-550 lbs 26.00-27.00, 550-600 lbs 28.00-29.00, 600-700 lbs 29.00-30.00.

Boars: under 300 lbs 24.00, 300-700 lbs 13.00.

For the week: Compared to last week's closing prices, barrows and gilts sold 1.50 higher. Sows sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher. There was no marketing of hogs Monday and Tuesday due to New Year's holiday.

Sheep: 100.

Compared to Thursday, not enough slaughter lambs, feeder lambs, and slaughter ewes for a test. Supply near 50 percent slaughter lambs, 40 percent feeder lambs, and 10 percent slaughter ewes.

Slaughter Lambs: Shorn: Choice, end Prime 2-3 110-140 lbs with 1-2 pelts 60.00-62.00. Wooled: Choice, end Prime 2-3 110-140 lbs 56.00-58.00.

Slaughter Ewes: Utility and Good 28.00-32.00. Cull 25.00-28.00.

Feeder Lambs: Medium and Large 1-2 60-80 lbs 70.00-80.00; 80-100 lbs 60.00-70.00.

For the week: Compared to last week's closing prices, slaughter lambs steady to 2.00 higher. Slaughter ewes and feeder lambs steady. There was no marketing of sheep Monday and Tuesday due to holiday.
