NISSWA -- Betty Cibuzar is the new president for the year news of the Nisswa Women's Club.
She will assume her duties at the Jan. 20 meeting. In the "Changing of the Guard" ceremony, held Dec. 16 at the Nisswa Community Center, she accepted the gavel from Betty Jean Carlson, who had served as president the past year and will continue on the board as adviser.

Pancake breakfast to help fund skate park
PEQUOT LAKES -- A pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 15 at Gloria Dei Church in Pequot Lakes will raise money for a skate park in the Pequot Lakes area.
Organizers need $2,000 to build the ramps for the park, and $1,325 has been raised so far.
Volunteers are also needed to work with young people to build the ramps over the winter months. Call Pequot Lakes Community Education at 568-9200 for more information.
Ancient Runner VI Antique Snowmobile Club rally set
PEQUOT LAKES -- This year's convention and rally of the Antique Snowmobile Club Of America will be held Friday, Jan. 28, through Sunday, Jan. 30, in Pequot Lakes.
The event will kick off Jan. 28 with a ride on the Paul Bunyan Trail beginning at 1 p.m. This will be followed by registration, social hour and a chili feed at the Pequot Lakes American Legion. There will also be a bonfire and antique sled displays at the city park.
On Jan. 29, registration will continue at the American Legion from 8 to 11 a.m. There will be a business meeting at 9 a.m. Beginning at 1 p.m. there will be drag, oval, reverse oval, obstacle rally and a parade. All racing sleds must be 1968 and older. Newer sleds are invited for display. Participants must be members of A.S.C.O.A. in order to race.
There will be a social hour beginning at 7 p.m. Jan. 29 at the American Legion followed by dinner and awards ceremony. Awards will be given for races, oldest running machine, best original machine, best restored machine, Rat Sled (must run), and best original/restored vintage machine (1969 and newer). Speaker at the awards dinner will be Ralph Plaisted, 1968 North Pole expedition leader.
Activities Jan. 30 will include an omelette breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Legion. There will be a trail ride on the Paul Bunyan trail at 10 a.m. open to all sleds old and new.
