DULUTH -- The Brainerd Warriors fell behind by 10 points after one quarter but rallied for a 56-48 non-conference girls' basketball victory over the Duluth East Greyhounds Tuesday.
Lisa Renneke of Brainerd led all scorers with 14 points and also dished out seven assists. Teammate Laura Bogenschutz contributed 11 points and eight rebounds as the Warriors improved to 6-2 overall.
"We started out kind of slow in the first quarter but we came out and played with much more consistency from the second quarter of play on," Brainerd head coach Carl Hendrickson said. "Once we took the lead we played much better."
Brainerd is back in action on Friday night when they travel to Little Falls to face the Flyers at 7:30 p.m. in a Central Lakes Conference game.
