The Business and Industry Center at Central Lakes College, Brainerd, will present a one-night seminar, Going Into Business for Yourself, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13.
The session will cover all areas of business start-up and provide advice on how to make it profitable, including how to finance a venture.
Potential business owners will receive step-by-step instruction on the process. Questions are encouraged on issues such as business structure, government filings and resources for continued assistance.
Among the ongoing resources for assistance is counseling available from the Small Business Development Center's team of consultants.

Career Planning Workshop slated
STAPLES -- The first 12-hour Career Planning Workshop offered by Central Lakes College in the new millennium starts Tuesday on the Staples campus.
The workshop will run from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 and 25 and Feb. 1, with repeated sessions planned monthly through April.
Jane Vogt, career adviser, said the workshop will use surveys, computer programs, tests and participant input to develop a plan for education and job options.
