BAXTER - A 17-year-old Baxter girl suffered minor injuries after the car she was driving collided with a Brainerd School District bus about 8 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Highland Scenic Road and Scenic River Drive in Baxter.
Baxter police said the bus was westbound on Highland Scenic Road and the driver of the vehicle, Claire Campbell, was eastbound when she lost control of her car and struck the bus. Assistant Police Chief Shane Ahrendt said icy roads were a factor in the crash.

The school bus was carrying 35 Forestview Middle School students, but none were treated for injuries. The driver of the bus, David Zierhut, 59, Brainerd, also was uninjured.
The driver of the four-door Nissan Altima car, Claire Campbell, was transported by North Ambulance to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, where she was treated and released.
The students on the bus were transferred to a second bus after the accident, police said.

Brainerd School Superintendent Steve Razidlo and Willy Severson, the district's director of schools, said the families of the students, who ranged in grade level from grades 5 to 8, were notified of the accident. Ten of the students voiced complaints that included aches related to the head, back and neck and went home for the day. Another four students saw the school nurse but remained in school.
The school bus was owned by Reichert Bus Service.
