ISLAND LAKE, Ill. - Chad Knudson of Brainerd was one of three bowlers who successfully completed David Traber's National Strike Challenge during the week ending Dec. 16.
Knudson and Matt Cannizzaro, Greendale, Wis., also won equal shares of the Super Strike Challenge jackpot.
Mitch Sacks of Mundelein, Ill., the third player to score a share of the Strike Challenge jackpot, failed to strike out in the final frame, missing out on a chance to also share the Super Strike Challenge pot.
Knudson, bowling at Jack's House in Brainerd, struck on all 10 key strike frames to break the Strike Challenge pot, then finished with two more strikes which earned him a share of the optional Super Strike Challenge pot.
He has bowled two 300 games this fall in league play at Jack's. In the Monday Night Maniac League, his average is 220. In the Tuesday Night Men's league his average is 228.
Cannizzaro, bowling in league at Classic Lanes in Greenfield, also managed to strike in all the right frames to collect from both pots.
Knudson and Cannizzaro each cashed for $535.50.
Sacks, now a two-time Strike Challenge winner, bowling at Hawthorn Lanes in Vernon Hills, got nine on his fill ball, but still cashed for $305.50.
