EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) -- Edmonton coach Craig MacTavish was already tired of losing in overtime. Now he's angry.
"This is as disappointed as I've been in our hockey club in a long time," MacTavish said after the Oilers' 2-1 loss to Minnesota on Thursday night. "We're not experienced enough to put a game like that away, even in overtime."
It was the Oilers' fourth overtime loss in their last eight games -- all against Western Conference rivals.
Jim Dowd scored the winner with 44 seconds left when his attempted pass got by goalie Tommy Salo after deflecting off Edmonton defenseman Janne Niinimaa's stick.
"I faked the shot and tried to pass it over," Dowd said.
"They both bit," Dowd added.
