The First Congregational UCC, Brainerd, will continue celebrating the season of Christmas at 3 p.m. Sunday featuring organists/pianists Grace Jones and Laura Raedeke.

During this musical festival, those in attendance, can request their favorite Christmas hymns to be sung by the congregation led by choir director Diane Hauan. Cleo Kuelbs will be the featured soloist. The Legacy Choral Quartet will share their singing talents rounding out a special musical salute to this season of Christmas.

Refreshments will be served following the program.

The church is located at 415 Juniper St. on the west side of Gregory Park.

Director of Christian Outreach added to staff

Zion Lutheran Church of Brainerd recently added Peter Keyes, a graduate of Concordia University, St. Paul, to their staff as the Director of Christian Outreach. Keyes will be coordinating efforts by the Zion Lutheran community to bring the message of Jesus Christ to the un-churched within the Brainerd area.

Zion Lutheran Church, Brainerd, in an effort to more effectively reach out into the community with the message of Jesus Christ's saving grace and forgiveness, decided to add a Director of Christian Outreach to their staff. In November they extended a call to Keyes to serve them in this ministry.

He will be working with the members of Zion Lutheran Church in an ongoing effort to bring a message of hope into the community of Brainerd. The mission of Zion is "to know Christ and to make Him known.' On the staff of Zion, he will be coordinating the efforts of the congregation to carry out this mission, both in their homes and in their neighborhoods.

He will officially be installed as the Director of Christian Outreach at the 5:30 p.m. Saturday worship service at Zion Lutheran Church located at 220 N. 8th Street in Brainerd. He can be reached at 829-4317.
