ST. PAUL (AP) -- Gov. Jesse Ventura has a new set of wheels -- big ones.
Less than a week before the colorful governor returns to life as a private motorist, he is showing off his new vehicle. It's a Hummer.
Ventura had the 2003, copper-colored Hummer in his parking spot at the Capitol Tuesday. He slid into the driver's seat and cranked up Led Zeppelin on the 10-speaker sound system, promising "It'll knock your socks off!"
Ventura's H2 Hummer is a loaded version of the military Humvee, the squatty-bodied vehicle often seen on television during the Gulf War. H2 Hummers are priced in the mid $50,000 range.
Ventura said if he had decided to seek a second term as governor and won re-election, the Hummer would have replaced his Lincoln Navigator as the state vehicle.
Ventura leaves office Monday when his successor, Tim Pawlenty, takes the oath of office.
So why the Hummer? "I live in Minnesota -- and I don't want to get stuck."
