Man arrested in suspicious death in Maple Grove
MAPLE GROVE (AP) -- A 19-year-old man has been arrested in the death of a man in his 20s, who police said was found in a house here early Tuesday.
Police Capt. Paul Berndt said investigators are treating the case as a homicide, but he declined to discuss how the man was killed or what the motive might be.
If the death is ruled a homicide, it would be the first of 2002 in the Twin Cities area and the first in Maple Grove in more than six years.
The name of the deceased wasn't released because he had not been positively identified.
Police were called to the house about 4:45 a.m. Officers were told there had been a New Year's Eve party at the house, but Berndt said it appeared that the party was over when police arrived.
A family with three teen-age boys lives at the house. At least one neighbor said he did not think the parents were home on New Year's Eve.
