ROYALTON -- Lawrence Pekarek, 84, Royalton, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at his residence in Graham Township.
He was born Dec. 31, 1917, in Buckman Township to Frank and Mary (Marshik) Pekarek. He married Lavina Schraut on Oct. 3, 1939, in Pierz. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Morrill. He was a member of the Third and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Lavina, Royalton; four sons, Daniel Pekarek, Seattle, Alfred Pekarek, Pierz, Roger Pekarek, St. Anthony Village, and Eugene Pekarek, Rice; two daughters, Bonnie Broda, Zimmerman, and Nancy Strange, Brainerd; two brothers, Tony Pekarek, St. Paul, and William Pekarek, Royalton; 23 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morrill with Father Tom Olson and Father Laurn Virnig officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Morrill.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Brenny Funeral Home in Pierz with Christian Mothers rosary at 4:30 p.m., parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. and Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 8:30 p.m. Friends also may call for one hour before services Thursday at the church.
