LITTLE FALLS -- Collette N. Nelson-Newman, 93, Little Falls, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls.
She was born April 16, 1908, in Eyota to John and Mary (Fallon) Pierce. As a young girl, her family moved to the Randall area. She married Elmer W. Nelson on Nov. 2, 1925. They made their home in Greene Prairie Township of Morrison County. Their property was purchased for Camp Ripley. They moved to the Freedhem area where they farmed for many years. He died Aug. 12, 1977. She married Clarence Newman on Nov. 20, 1980. They lived in Little Falls. He later died. In July 1992, she became a resident of the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls where she lived until her death. She was a member of First United Church in Little Falls and the Little Falls Senior Citizens.
Survivors include one daughter, Eileen Butcher, Little Falls; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Her first husband, Elmer W. Nelson; her second husband, Clarence Newman; one daughter, JoAnn Fremstad; one brother, Harold Pierce; and two sisters, Luella Newcomb and Mildred Newman, died earlier.
Services were planned this morning at First United Church in Little Falls with Rev. John Longley officiating followed by burial in Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls.
Arrangements were with Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.
