Walker -- 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-2 p.m. Jan. 14, Health and Human Services Building.
Pillager -- Noon-2:30 p.m. Jan. 15 and 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Jan. 16, Family Resource Center.
A Healthy Beginnings nurse is available at WIC clinics to answer questions about pregnancy/childbirth and for pregnancy testing.
Cass to offer adult health clinics in January
Cass County Public Health will offer adult health clinics in January.
Public health nurses will assess at no charge: health history, blood pressure, blood glucose and medications management. A suggested donation of $10 for foot care would include cutting toenails, ingrown toenails and calluses.

Hackensack -- 12:30-4 p.m. Tuesday, Hackensack Senior Center.
Cass Lake -- 9-11:30 a.m. Jan. 15, Four Seasons Apartments.

Cass County will offer the following blood pressure and immunization clinics in January.
Walker -- 1-3 p.m. Friday, Health and Human Services Building.
Longville -- 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday and Jan. 15, Ambulance Building.
Pillager -- 12:30-2:30 p.m. Jan. 15, Family Resource Center.
Walker -- 9-11 a.m. Jan. 22, Health and Human Services Building.
Preschoolers -- Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Polio, Hib., Hep. B, Varicella.
School age -- All the above except Hib.
Adult -- Diphtheria, Tetanus.
Charge is $3 per immunization (bring current record). Receive a free reading book for your children by getting their initial immunization series completed by age 20 months.

Multiple sclerosis support group to meet in Staples
STAPLES -- The Multiple Sclerosis Mutual Help Group will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the activities room of Lakewood Health System.

Blood pressure clinic schedule set in Staples
STAPLES -- The following blood pressure clinics, sponsored by Lakewood Health System Home Care Department of Staples, will be offered at no charge. Walk-ins are welcome.
Staples -- First Friday of every month (Jan. 4), 9-10 a.m., Staples Hi Rise; second Friday of every month (Jan. 11), 9-10 a.m., First Integrity Bank Annex.
Motley -- Fourth Friday of every month (Jan. 25), 10:30-11:30 a.m., Sunny Pines.

STAPLES -- A foot care clinic, sponsored by Lakewood Health System Home Care Department, Staples, will be offered 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the second Friday of each month (Jan. 11) at the First Integrity Bank Annex in Staples.

Diabetes support group
to meet in Staples
STAPLES -- The Living With Diabetes support group will meet 7 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 14 in the care center activity room of Lakewood Health System, Staples.
Family members of people with diabetes are invited. There will be an opportunity for participants to share their experiences with diabetes.

CPR class scheduled
STAPLES -- Lakewood Health System, Staples, will offer an American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR class from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 14 and 21.
Cost is $48.
This class is intended for people who work in health care. They are required to have documentation that they have successfully completed a course in Healthcare Provider CPR.
This course will prepare people to respond to emergencies in a variety of settings both in-hospital and outside of the hospital. A mouth-to-mouth barrier device and written materials are included in the fee.
On Jan. 28, a Healthcare Provider CPR refresher will be offered from 6 to 10 p.m. for $21. For more information or to register call Gayle Christenson at (218) 894-0332.
Breastfeeding Mom's Group to meet in Staples
STAPLES -- A Breastfeeding Mom's Group will meet 3 to 4 p.m. Jan. 15 in the family room at Greater Staples Hospital & Care Center, Staples.
Share the joys and frustrations of breastfeeding with other nursing moms. Babies and preschoolers are welcome.

Early pregnancy class scheduled in Staples
STAPLES -- An early pregnancy class will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in the lower level of Lakewood Health System in Staples.
This class is designed to prepare participants for the physical and psychological changes that occur during pregnancy. It is intended for those in the early months of pregnancy (1-5 months).

First aid class to be
offered in Staples
STAPLES -- Lakewood Health System, Staples, will offer a four-hour American Safety & Health Institute first aid class 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 24.
The purpose of the first aid course is to train citizens to help people in emergencies. This course teaches the standard first aid skills a person needs to act as the first link in the emergency medical system.
Cost is $35. To register, call the education department at (218) 894-0332. Participants must have a current CPR card before receiving a first aid card of completion.
