Open Forum: The Bible doesn't contradict science

Posted: Tuesday, January 01, 2008

A doctor of all people should see the evidence for God very clearly for His creation shouts His existence.

The Bible is not in contradiction to science, and medical advances in particular have proven the truth of scripture time and time again. Not long ago we were draining the blood out of people with leeches when the Bible clearly stated The life of the flesh is in the blood Lev 17:11. God commanded all Jewish babies to be circumcised on the eighth day of life but it was not until recently that we found that vitamin k levels in an infant were not safe for such a procedure until the eighth day. Most fascinating is the recent discovery that the descendants of the Levites share a Y chromosome with similar genetic markers that distinguishes them from the general Jewish population, this is significant because the Levites are the only Jewish people allowed to work in the temple. If a temple were to be rebuilt today they would have to be identified, amazingly, God provided a way.

The truth is, The invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse Romans 1:20. With the help of science they are even more clearly seen today.

An almighty creator such as this has every right to say, Because I said so.

There are two Dr. Careys

For the record, and to alleviate any future confusion, there are two Dr. Careys employed by St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd. Drs. Patrick and Paul Carey. To my knowledge they are not related.

That's too bad if you're offended

Its been said that if we say Merry Christmas as a greeting it may offend someone. We continually hear that any reference to belief in Jesus Christ as Gods son may offend someone. I, for one am sick and tired of this. The majority of citizens in the United States are Christians. Whatever happened to the simple concept of majority rules"? I will continue to say Merry Christmas and if it offends someone thats just too bad. Im offended by many things. In fact, it offends me deeply that a few people are trying to take Christ out of Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season. If the atheists out there are offended by that, they should find comfort in knowing that they have their own special holiday coming up. Its April 1. Its really time for all Christians to stand up and say enough is enough!
