Brainerd dominated the net Tuesday with the starting lineup combining for 35 kills, led by Sydnie Mauch's 10, to sweep Sauk Rapids 3-0 in a Central Lakes Conference match on "Dig for the Cure Night."
"All of our hitters were swinging really well tonight," said Warriors coach Jared Diem. "A lot of girls were getting a lot of kills."
Brainerd also received seven kills from Carlie Sweet and six each from Trisha Kramer, Allison Mueller and Jalynn Lamb. Mueller also collected five blocks.
Alanna Hansen contributed 35 set assists and four ace serves while Sarah Miller led with 13 digs.
"We had some big leads and our servers started to relax and were able to get more aggressive," Diem added. "We were scrappy and had hardly any mistakes - I was really proud of that fact tonight."
The win gives the Warriors two points in the CLC standings because this is the only time the teams play this year.
"It kind of felt like the girls were playing for an extra cause (Dig for the Cure) tonight," Diem went on. "I also told the girls they could have (Wednesday) off if they won in three."
