DULUTH — For the second straight night the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers were swept in a doubleheader.
Friday night it was at the hands of the Duluth Huskies who beat Brainerd 1-0 and 4-1 handing Brainerd its third and fourth straight losses.
In Game One, Duluth’s Andrew Dixon singled in Mike Bisenius, who opened the bottom of the seventh with a walk to score the game’s only run.
Brainerd’s Charlie Henderson started and didn’t figure in the decision. He struck out five and walked none, while scattering five hits over six innings.
Shea Lukes pitched the loss. He walked two, including the eventual game winner.
Jimmy O’Neill pitched the complete game victory. He struck out five and allowed three hits over seven innings.
Duluth starter Tyler King struck out three, walked two and allowed one run on four hits to pitch the Game Two victory.
Brainerd’s Steven Brault went 2-3 and Jon Crist was 2-3 with an RBI.
Lunkers’ starter Casey Roche went five innings.. He struck out two, walked one and allowed four runs on six hits to take the loss.

Late rally ends late night in Alexandria’s favor
The Alexandria Beetles scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning to break open a 4-4 tie and defeat the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers 6-4 in the nightcap of a Northwoods League doubleheader Thursday at Mills Field.
Alexandria’s Chad Bunting led off the inning with a double. Mike LeViseur followed with a run-scoring double and he later scored on Nick Gumm’s single for the final two runs in a game that lasted 3:14.
Brainerd’s Tyler Sparger took the loss. He allowed five hits and three runs in 3.1 innings. He struck out two and walked one.
Every Brainerd batter had a hit with Wade Wass driving in two runs.
