Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers general manager Dustin Anaas announced Friday the Northwoods League team has teamed up in a season-long partnership with the United Way of Crow Wing and Southern Cass counties.
One of the highlights of the partnership is the addition of United Way Wednesdays to the Lunkers' home schedule. During each Wednesday home game, beginning June 1 and ending Aug. 3, the United Way and its partner organizations will receive special recognition at the ballpark.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with the Lunkers and excited about the opportunity to showcase some of our local non-profits,” Monica Nieman, executive director at United Way, said in a news release. “This is a great way to connect with the community.”
Fans can purchase Lunkers tickets from the United Way and its partners in an effort to raise more than $10,000 for the United Way of Crow Wing and Southern Cass counties and its member organizations.
“The United Way and its partners work tirelessly throughout the Brainerd Lakes Area to help those in need,” Anaas said in the news release. “With our United Way Wednesdays, we can plan to showcase these efforts to let our fans know what a large impact these organizations make in the Lakes Area.”
The Lunkers’ home opener, presented by Cub Foods, is scheduled June 1 at Mills Field. Game time is 7:05 p.m. For more information call the Lunkers’ office at 218-824-3474 or visit www.lunkersbaseball.com.
