Women's College Basketball: Hoge, Stanfied lead Jills

Sara Hoge (Aitkin) scored a game-high 17 points and Sam Stanfield (Crosby-Ironton) added 13 points and 13 rebounds for Northland College in a 57-47 loss to Martin Luther Jan. 19.

Hoge added six rebounds and three assists. Stanfield also had three assists for Northland, which is 3-10 overall.

On the season, Hoge is averaging a team-high 11.3 points per game. She’s adding 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 and 2.3 assists through the team’s first 11 games to go with 38 percent shooting from the field and 73 percent from the line.

Stanfield is second on the team with 9.1 points per game. She’s adding 4.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Both are seniors.

Mehr leads Morris

Emily Mehr (Aitkin) tallied 23 points to go with six rebounds in the University of Minnesota Morris 75-59 victory over North Central Jan. 19.

Mehr, a senior forward for the 7-7 Cougars, leads the team with 20.9 points per game. She’s adding 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists. She’s shooting 49 percent from the field, 81 percent from the foul line, through nine games.

Luecks at St. Ben’s

Emily Lueck and Mattie Lueck have helped the College of St. Benedict to an 11-4 season so far. Both Pequot Lakes High School graduates have played in all 15 games.

Emily Lueck is averaging 4.7 points and 1.3 rebounds, while Mattie Lueck is averaging 4.5 points and 2.7 rebounds.

St. Ben’s beat St. Olaf 72-56 Saturday.
