The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity played two 5-inning games against Cloquet on Saturday. In Game One, the Warriors trailed 8-2 after the first inning, but battled back to take a 9-8 lead going into the bottom of the fifth before losing 10-9.

The Brainerd Warrior girls swimming and diving team will bag groceries at the East Brainerd Cub Foods during Memorial Day weekend. Members of the 2013 team will bag groceries on Friday, May 24, from 4-9 p.m.; Saturday, May 25, from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

Brainerd's freshmen softball team captured the Central Lakes Conference championship last weekend and finished the season 13-0. In Game One, Brainerd beat Fergus Falls 11-1 as Jillian Ewald pitched a perfect game through four innings.

MILACA - Josh Wenzel went the distance, striking out 11 and allowing no runs off of six hits while walking only one in eight innings, as Little Falls downed Milaca 2-0 in Tuesday's Granite Ridge Conference game.

LITTLE FALLS - Kendra Pohlman and Sierra Virnig each tagged home runs as No. 3 Little Falls saw its season end following an 11-6 loss to No. 6 Albany in Monday's East Subsection 6-2A quarterfinals.

COLLEGEVILLE - Wade Stiere passed for 125 yards and two scores on four option plays as Brainerd stumbled against rival Granite City 23-20 Saturday. Brad Simpson caught two touchdowns and Geoff Niemi ran in for another.
