THIEF RIVER FALLS — The Central Lakes College Raiders, ranked second in NJCAA Division III, found themselves down 18-8 in the second set to Northland, ranked fifth nationally.
To compound their problems, the Raiders had already lost the first set 25-14. In of the bigger comebacks of coach Jane Peterson’s career, CLC responded to win the second set and the next two to stay perfect in division play at 11-0.
Lindsay Monson knocked down 14 kills, and Sam Schlangen recorded 14 set assists for CLC in the win. Monson also recorded five blocks and Sarah Miller notched three ace serves as the Raiders won their 13th game in a row.
With the win the Raiders have earned the right to host the region tournament which will take place on November 8th and 9th.
CLC swept Northland the first time the played them, and will see them again at the region tournament.
