Central Lakes College volleyball players Lindsay Monson, Tiffany Hartung, Sarah Miller and Sam Schlangen were named Northern Division Athletes of Week by the Minnesota College Athletic Conference for the week ending Sept. 28.
Monson and Kristen Predovich of Mesabi Range repeated as hitters of the week. Monson averaged 4.63 kills per game with a .383 attack percentage per game. The sophomore from Pierz added 14 aces and 12 blocks. Monson also earned NJCAA Volleyball Player of the Week honors for her efforts.
Hartung shared setter of the week honors with Tali Plate of Rainy River. Hartung collected 20-plus assists per match (124 assists, 6.53/game). The sophomore from Holdingford recorded 28 assists and 12 digs against Itasca.
Miller was the libero of the week. The sophomore from Crosslake had three 20-plus dig matches. She accumulated 99 digs (5.21/game), giving her a division high 303 for the season.
Schlangen was the all-around player of the week. The freshman from Albany recorded three triple-doubles in kills, digs and assists last week. She had 2.57 kills per game while hitting .434. She racked up 5.95 assists/game and added 46 digs and 8 blocks.
