Central Lakes College quarterback Andrew Johnson was one of the MCAC Southern Division offensive players of the week ending Sept. 14.
Johnson, a sophomore from St. Paul, led the 3-0 Raiders by hitting 8 of 12 passes for 110 yards and 4 TDs. He also rushed for 21 yards.
It was his second player of the week honor in three weeks.
In volleyball, CLC’s Tiffany Hartung, Sarah Miller and Lindsay Monson were Northern Division volleyball players of the week ending Sept. 14.
Although setting only half of each game, Hartung handed out 89 assists (5.93 per game) including 23 in a win against No. 4 Ridgewater. She also had 31 digs (2.06 pg), five aces and four blocks. Hartung is a 5-7 sophomore from Holdingford.
Sarah Miller, a 5-6 sophomore from Crosslake, was the libero of the week. The primary serve receiver for the Raiders, Miller was the defensive key as CLC finished the week 4-1. Miller had 78 digs (5.2 per game), with half of those coming in wins over No. 1 Rochester and No. 4 Ridgewater. She also had five aces, three assists and two kills.
Lindsay Monson, a 6-0 sophomore from Pierz, was the all-around player of the week. She was a major contributor as CLC topped Rochester and Ridgewater. Monson had 56 kills (3.5 per game) while hitting .370, including a season-high .769 match against Fond Du Lac. She also had 23 blocks (1.44), 30 digs, nine aces and two assists.
