MINNEAPOLIS — Pequot Lakes High School athletes Vanessa Lane, Tyler Tappe and Chloe Bermel competed in the USA Track Minnesota state championship Sunday at the University of Minnesota.
Lane won the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.21 and also won the championship in the 200 to earn her second gold medal. She just missed medalling in the 400, finishing fourth overall. The junior competed in the 17-18-year-old bracket.
Tappe, a junior, was runner-up in the pole vault, receiving a silver medal.
Bermel, an eighth-grader, competed in the 15- to 16-year-old bracket and brought home bronze medals in the 60 and 200 for finishing third in both.
